So last night we were on our way home from church and Enzo was fussing in the car. Pearl looked at him and said in her most stern voice: “Enzo! I have something to tell you. When you cry like that it makes me not want to take you places!” Then she says to us: “I’m going to tell Enzo something else.” She turns back to Enzo: “Enzo, if you keep crying I’m going to take something away from you that you like.”

Good Lord! I think we need to buy another parenting book…

Pearl and I chit-chatted in the car on the way there and she was thrilled that we got to take a bathroom break at an “Old McDonald’s with a playground!”

When I first told her we were going to a dance party she insisted that she would NOT dance, but once we got there she put on her “birdie dance dress” and spun her little heart out!

Afterwards we got to go to Marishka’s house and walked to the nearby beach where the girls made sand castles.

It was a great day to see our friends and enjoy some quality mother-daughter time.
