We’re cleaning up top to bottom this weekend!

I took Enzo to the pediatrician for his 4-month check up today. My boy is GROWING! He is now 26.5 inches long (up from 24 inches two months ago) and he is 17 pounds, 10 ounces (up from 14 pounds, 5 ounces). He also got some vaccinations and did great. We have so much to be thankful for – especially our two healthy, happy children. xo I just heard Pearl in her room say, “Well, well, well… Blanky, blanky, blanky.” As if she’d just busted the blanky in the act of doing something bad. Then she said, ” I have to cleeeeean this bedroom! I made a mess with that blanky.” Apparently she and the blanky are in cahoots. As many of you know, I’ve been taking Pearl to the Little Gym since she was about 7 or 8 months old. We run around on the mats, she dangles from the monkey bars and she’s even able to walk across the balance beam with little or no assistance! However, Pearl could not jump with two feet…UNTIL NOW! Last Tuesday Morgan came home and Pearl jumped for joy – with two feet! She was so proud of herself. She doesn’t get much air so here’s the closest thing I have to an action shot: xoxo Pearl’s new favorite thing to do at breakfast is to bite a hole in the middle of her toast and yell, “I made a bagel!” She also continues to narrate everything she does. As I type, she’s in her playroom picking up toys and saying things like, “Ooh! There’s a basket full of toys. I’m going to play with you, toys!” “Where’s Miss Duckie? I need to find her!” “I have a string. Ooh! Now I have TWO strings!” “I see my kangaroo! I LOVE my kangaroo!” (the funny part about that last one is that she doesn’t even have a kangaroo so I have no idea what she’s referring to). She has no inner monologue and I love it.
Hope you have a great weekend! Pearl has been helping us clear the table lately. Last night she picked up her plastic orange bowl, held it up in the air and yelled: “Whoa! This bowl is quite heavy! I’m strong!” Tonight we were putting away her blocks then she stopped suddenly and said, “Pink duckie should help.” So she picked up her pink rubber duckie and had her put away the blocks – which meant that she pressed the duckie against each block as she put them in the bag. When we were finished she said, “You did a good job, pink duckie.” Then gave her a hug. |
