I’ll be posting Halloween pics this week, but I did want to share that today when we got home from trick-or-treating Pearl asked me to take off her “lady-tard” (definition: leotard). One of my favorite songs to sing to Pearl is the old hymn, “I’ve Got Peace Like a River.” Today we were in the grocery store and I let her hold the frozen peas so she declared, “I’VE GOT PEAS LIKE A RIVER!” She’s so punny! Today was a fun day. We didn’t do anything special, but Pearl made me smile a lot. Here are the highlights: We were getting ready to go to the store. As Pearl puts on her shoes she yells, “This is so exciting! We’re going to the grocery store!” I open the door to the car, she climbs into her car seat and declares: “I’m ready! Start the car!” We make a u-turn because the store is on the other side of Route 9. Pearl must think we’re heading home so she announces: “We have to stop home. I always forget my coupons!” (which is true – I often forget my coupons so we have to turn around to go pick them up). Of course there are a few other daily quotes that I thought I’d share: She thinks it’s hilarious to say, “Enzo wants to eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich too.” (or any other food she’s eating). Then I say, “Enzo can’t eat a PB&J – he’s a little baby.” To which her response is always, “Enzo’s a teenager!” And then she laughs herself silly. She also likes mixing up the words to “Twinkle Twinkle.” She’ll sing, “Twinkle, twinkle, little little MOMMY!” and again, she’ll laugh herself silly. She’s also fond of saying, “Oh, hello!” when she walks into a room, “Take care!” whenever we leave a grocery store and “Now wheeeeeeere were we?” whenever we open a book. I have the cutest daughter in the world. Tomorrow Enzo will be 3 months old. He gets sweeter and more cuddly every day. It’s so easy to make him smile and giggle! He likes to sit upright in his new Bumbo seat or on the couch and he’s trying to roll over when he’s on his playmat. He hasn’t made it all the way over yet, but he looks determined (if he’s as determined as his big sister, he’ll be rolling over in no time). |
