Seriously – Pearl gets cuter by the second! I think she’s figured out what “nighttime” is so she’s been sleeping longer stretches during the night and then going back to sleep after a feeding with much less cajoling. It’s been a lot easier on me and Morgan so please keep your fingers crossed that this wonderful new trend continues! We had a nice, relaxing weekend. We had a few friends over on Saturday, including Stavros who met Pearl for the first time. Sunday morning we packed up the car and drove to Rowayton to visit Aunt Amy and Alyssa! Aunt Amy took us on a nice walk through the cute town and then we met up with Alyssa at Bailey Beach. Pearl seemed to enjoy the fresh air and slept like an angel in her stroller while we went swimming and got some sun. Afterwards, we walked back to Aunt Amy’s house for a DELICIOUS barbecue dinner (thank you, Aunt Amy!). It was a much-needed escape and now that we know what an easy drive it is we hope we’ll be back there soon. That’s all for this morning! Love, This weekend we went up to Hudson to celebrate the 4th of July at my parents’ picnic as well as have Pearl’s baby dedication at church. We had such a great time and what really made the weekend special was Morgan’s Nannie made the trip all the way from Ottawa with Grammie Rita. It was so wonderful to introduce Pearl to all her great grandparents. Here are a few photos from the weekend: Nana and Pearl at the 4th of July picnic… Uncle Jordan holds his niece… Nannie meets Pearl for the first time! Grammie Rita was getting over a cold so she didn’t want to take any chances when holding her granddaughter… The new Turner family at Pearl’s baby dedication… Four generations of Winant women! Today Pearl and I went to the pediatrician for her 5-week visit. She’s 11 pounds, 6 ounces now and 22 inches long! The pediatrician was very impressed with Pearl’s neck strength and says she’s “right on the money” with the rest of her development. That’s all the news for now. Enjoy the video of Pearl during her tummy time! Love,
Rockin’ Roll’n Tummy Time with Pearl.

I had heard on the news a couple of weeks ago about thieves targeting cars with GPS mounting hardware visible from the outside. Unfortunately, I thought we’d be safe parked right outside our house. It seems last night at least two cars were broken into on our street. Someone leaned in through our car, checked the glovebox for our GPS, but didn’t find one. They also tugged on the power cables under our dash but left those in tact. The funny thing (but not really funny) is that they left my 5 year old iPod behind, clearly visible in the glovebox that was ransacked. Oh well. Its more of a inconvience than something heartbreaking. Still, its put a damper on my day.
