BABY SHOWER!!!

This weekend was wonderful. We attended an amazing shower put on by our mothers and friends. It was so beautiful! Everything from the gorgeous flowers and decorations to the delicious food and treats was perfect. I loved seeing my family and friends and I can’t thank everyone enough for all the warm wishes and the beautiful gifts. Morgan and I were both blown away by everyone’s generosity and we are so thankful to have such a loving network of people in our lives. I have to say thank you again to Mom, Rita and all our friends who planned and set up such a great event. It was so special and I will never forget it.

After the shower we spent a good chunk of time putting together all the fancy equipment and sorting through the beautiful clothes and books we were given. We got most of it into our apartment and so far we’re not feeling too cramped. We still have some more arranging and planning to do, but fortunately I think I’m in that “nesting mode” that you hear about where all I want to do is make lists, organize and clean so we’re as prepared as possible for her arrival.

Our next big step will be our childbirth education class next week. I have to say that I’m a little nervous about that (especially if they show a video) but I think I’ll feel better having as much information as possible regarding what to expect in the delivery room. We’ll keep you posted on how it goes (read: I’ll let you know if I pass out or not).

Again, it was great to see so many of you this past weekend. It’s hard to imagine, but the next time we see a lot of you we’ll be parents!

Love,
Jill

PS-Morgan and I didn’t get a lot of photos at the shower so if any of you have some please send them our way so we can post a few.

Dr. Appointment

I just wanted to let you all know that this week’s doctor’s appointment went well. Everything is still going smoothly and I’ve been feeling great. We’ll get to find out the baby’s position at our next visit!

This weekend Morgan and I will be spending our first weekend here at home in what seems like months. We’re hoping to get some more work done in the apartment and spend as much time outside as possible – the weather here has been gorgeous!

I hope you all have a great weekend too.

Love,
Jill

Babymoon!

Morgan and I figured this could be the last chance we have for a romantic getaway for a while so we spent a long weekend in Newport, RI. It was so nice! We ate lots of seafood, walked near the ocean, went flip-flop shopping and just relaxed at the hotel pool. We’ve been traveling and working a lot lately so I’m glad we took a little time to unwind together. It still feels like there’s so much to do to prepare, but I’m trying not to get too overwhelmed and just take things day by day.

That’s all for right now. We have another doctor’s appointment tomorrow morning so we’ll let you know how it goes.

Love,
Jill

160 BPM!

Hey, check out the heartbeat of our little one. Her little heart is beating away around 160 times per minute, which we’re told is completely normal and healthy. Its sounds like a little machine with all that fluid in there, and it makes me smile whenever I hear this sound at our appointments.

Jill is doing fantastic too, the Doctors are all really impressed with her health, and she’s been feeling and looking really great. I’m so proud of her, I know she’s going to be a fantastic mother. What an exciting time for us!

-Morgan
