One of the biggest decisions facing Jill and me was what kind of invitations to do. Just yesterday we put our order in to have them printed and that was quite a relief. I don’t want to give up the suprise of what they’ll look like, but I can say that they’ll follow our wedding colors and design themes and have a custom handmade touch courtesy of Jill’s mother, Teri.

We ended up getting some parts of the ‘package’ printed for us, most of it printed by me and Jill’s mom will be doing her special touch too. Jill and I came up with the design ourseleves and are really excited to see how they come back in color. While we wait the two or three weeks for that, we’ve got all sorts of little inserts to design and print too, but this’ll be much easier now the the big stuff has been taken care of.

Like Jill said earlier, we’re off today to make some picks on flowers, so that’s it for now.

Honeymoon Update

Hello! I hope you’re all doing well.

What a great weekend. Morgan and I took care of a lot of wedding tasks on Saturday and then Sunday we met up with our friends for the annual street fair in our neighborhood. The fair was great – despite the rain.

Wedding plans keep moving along. I think we’re hitting our stride! Morgan and I finally decided on a honeymoon destination – the Breakwater Inn and Spa in Kennebunkport, Maine. It’s a cute little place on the water where we can just relax, get massages, ride bikes and eat lobster! It’s just what we were looking for and I think the drive will be great. Thank you to everyone who gave us hotel and destination recommendations. We not only have our honeymoon planned now but we also have a TON of weekend destinations that sound great.

Morgan and I have both been busy with work these days but we’re looking forward to going to Hudson this weekend – it’s Mom’s birthday and I hear the pool’s open! Mom, Morgan and I are also going to meet up with the Scalis on Saturday to talk about what kind of flowers we want for the wedding.

I should get back to work. Have a great day!

Love,
Jill

4 More Months..

Hello everyone!

Things have been busy here. Morgan and I have been going away a lot this past month for a variety of reasons – one of which was our friends Maria and Peter’s wedding! They had a beautiful ceremony in Albany and then an amazing reception in Latham. We had so much fun and I was honored to be a part of it. Congratulations!

Morgan and I continue to get more of our wedding plans checked off the list. This week we’ve been researching honeymoon destinations. We’re planning a big vacation to Italy in the spring which we’ll consider a belated honeymoon, but since I’m sure we’ll want to get away for a few days after the wedding we’re hoping to go somewhere in the northeast where we can just relax. We’ve narrowed it down to about two places, but if any of you have any suggestions or recommendations please send them our way!

My wedding gown arrived last Friday so I picked it up at a bridal megastore in Manhattan and brought it upstate. There’s a really sweet lady named Jola who has a wedding shop right on my parents’ road (for those of you who don’t know where my parents live, that’s pretty crazy considering it’s RURAL). Morgan ordered the tuxes from her and she’ll do the alterations on my dress and some of the bridesmaids’ dresses which will be really convenient.

That’s all the wedding news for now. Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there – especially our moms, Teri and Rita!

I hope you’re all doing well. Have a great weekend.

Love,
Jill
